Palestinian protesting the "wall" in a new creative way :D Жители деревни Билин в Палестине периодически устраивают протесты и демонстрации, целью которых является так называемая граница с Израилем. Палестинцы жалуются, что Израиль отбирает у них землю. И на этой неделе, вырядившись в представителей расы На’Ви из фильма “Аватар”, жители ставшей уже символической деревни вышли на защиту Пандоры….эээ, простите, Палестины.

On the eve of the anniversary of the horrific 2002 Passover massacre in Netanya's Park Hotel, Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas has delivered a stinging reminder that "moderacy" on the Palestinian side is a relative term.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the Al Quds Mark of Honor, the PLO's highest medal, will be given to two female terrorists who helped kill Israelis.
Ahlam Tamimi, a Hamas-linked terrorist in prison for assisting the suicide bomber who killed at least six people in the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, and Amra Muna, who seduced Ophir Rahum over the Internet and then lured him to Ramallah to be murdered, will be awarded the medal.
Conferring the Al Quds Mark of Honor is decided at the discretion of the Palestinian Authority's president, and he alone has the final say when choosing the Palestinians to be honored with the medal.
It is highly unlikely that this appalling story will be covered by the mainstream media, which regularly describes Abbas as a "moderate". While this may be true in comparison with the absolute fanaticism of Hamas, this incident is yet another demonstration of how the media is too quick to cast Palestinian leaders in these terms.
Abbas, as recently as February, did not rule out returning to the path of armed "resistance" against Israel and took pride in the fact that he had been the first to fire on Israel and that his organization had trained Hezbollah. This, in addition to his history of Holocaust denial.

So why does the mainstream media continue to refer to various Israeli politicians or civilians who live over the Green Line as "hard-line", "uncompromising", "intransigent", "implacable" and other similar terms while Abbas and other Palestinians are presented as "moderate"? Demand more from your media - ask why some unpleasant truths are systematically under-reported while Palestinian leaders are inaccurately described in gracious political terms.

Brush your teeth? pour a glass of beer? put on a tie? load your washing machine? 15 seconds.. for the people of Sderot it's a matter of life or death. 15 seconds is all the time they have to find cover from the rockets launched daily from Gaza.

Ответсвенность за сегодняшний теракт в Димоне взяли на себя сразу несколько группировок:"Бригады мучеников Аль-Аксы" ("Фатх"), "Бригады Абу Али Мустафы" (Народный фронт освобождения Палестины), "Бригады Изаддина аль-Касама" ("Хамас") и "Бригады Эль-Кудса" (Исламский джихад).

Не понимаю,почему только Хамас считают террористами в мировом общественном мнении,чем от них отличается тот же "умеренный" Фатх с многочисленными его группировками,в чем умеренность то?
Если же все эти "бригады" не подчиняются Махмуду Абасу,то о чем с ним вообще говорить на переговорах,он же просто не легитимен?
Еще меня просто поразила картинка по CNN как в Секторе Газа отмечают этот теракт как праздник с цветами и конфетами. Интересна реакция мировой общественности.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel said on Saturday it had recently seized a truck carrying chemicals used to make explosives hidden in bags marked as EU aid for the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

The army said 6.5 tons of potassium nitrate were in bags marked as sugar from the European Union for Palestinians in the coastal enclave.EU officials in Jerusalem had no immediate comment. The cargo in a Palestinian truck was traveling in the occupied West Bank and seized several weeks ago at an Israeli checkpoint, the army said.

The EU is the largest provider of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Israel tightened its military and economic cordon of the Gaza Strip after Islamist Hamas seized the territory in a June war with secular Fatah.
